Teesside University is delighted to offer scholarships to international (non-EU) students in recognition of academic and english language ability.

Eligibility

These scholarships apply to full-time students on undergraduate, postgraduate taught and postgraduate research programmes, in the first year of study, enrolling in September 2018 or January 2019. The scholarships are available to both sponsored and self-funded students, as a tuition fee reduction. The value of the scholarship is either £1,000 or £1,500, based on your GPA or IELTS score. The University assess your eligibility automatically and will communicate a scholarship award following your academic application.

You may receive one of the following scholarships:

Academic Scholarship

  • If you meet the academic entry requirements for your chosen programme, as referenced on your country page, you will be awarded £1,000. If you exceed the academic entry requirements you will be awarded £1,500. If you hold qualifications not listed on your country page, please contact International Admissions for further eligibility information.

English Language Scholarship

  • If you achieve an IELTS score of 0.5 above the minimum requirement for your course, you will be awarded £1,000
  • If you achieve an IELTS score of 1.0 above the minimum requirement for your course, you will be awarded £1,500

The english language requirements for each course and therefore the levels that will be used in allocating these scholarships can be found here.

Alternative english language evidence

If you hold an English language test score other than an IELTS, you have the option to submit it and sit an interview with the English Language Centre. The University will then assess if you are eligible for an English language scholarship with a value of either £1,000 or £1,500.

Alternatively, if you combine your in-country qualification with an interview with the ELC, the following criteria will apply.
