Teesside University forges new links with Xiangsihu College

18 November 2014

Teesside University and Xiangsihu College are working on establishing a range of student exchange programmes which may lead to us welcoming a cohort of Chinese students to Teesside.

SSSBL representatives recently hosted the President of Xiangsihu College, Mr Chen Yuanzhong at our Middlesbrough campus, along with Dean of International Trade, Ms Lin Lifang and Ms Mo Fan, Deputy Director of Foreign Exchange and Cooperation. Mr Chen Yuanzhong and Professor Eileen Martin signed a memorandum of understanding and exchanged gifts to mark the occasion.

Xiangsihu College was founded in 2002 and is based in Nanning, China. Nanning is known as the “Green City” due to its abundance of lush, tropical foliage. It is hoped that the collaboration between the College and SSSBL will begin with a summer camp involving students from Xiangsihu spending a month on campus at Teesside.

The College is also interested in creating a programme enabling Chinese students to spend one year at Teesside studying business and English language before returning to China to complete their course.
