07 February 2017 @TeesUniNews

Congratulations to Mihaela Brinza, Alexandra Todor, Amna Bibi and Lojeen Shflwet, prize draw winners for the International Student Barometer Autumn 2016 survey.

Teesside University has an excellent performance record in the survey, which asks international students for feedback on their study experiences in universities all over the world.

In this latest survey, 182 universities participated globally, 42 from the UK. International students ranked Teesside University number one in the UK and in the top 6% in the world for overall average satisfaction. Teesside was also ranked first in the UK in a number of other categories including careers advice, average satisfaction with the learning experience, good teachers, social facilities, accommodation costs and financial support.

Mihaela Brinza, a final year Computer Science student from Navodari, Constanta in Romania, commented “The most beautiful experience I have had here at Teesside has been meeting lots of people from other countries and cultures. Making friends with everyone, even though we are all so different, has been awesome”.

Alexandra Todor, also from Romania, came to Teesside from Romania to study Concept Art. She said “It is fantastic to see how well students are taken care of here. All the facilities are great, everything from financial support to mental wellbeing, and the amenities and facilities are just amazing. Every student has access to everything they need to support them in their work. I’m having a really good time here so far!”.

Amna Bibi, a Pakistani student from Kashmir, studying Food Science and Nutrition, told us “I arrived four months ago, and I am still fascinated by everything here. In Pakistan, we don’t have facilities like this. I really like the library and the learning space at the top of Middlesbrough Tower. I love my teachers, they’re great. It has been very easy to adapt to being here”.

We would like to thank all of our students who participated in this year’s International Student Barometer Survey. We really value you feedback, and will let you know about any improvements we make to the University as a result of what you told us.
