When is the deadline for applications? – Deadline day for applications is 15 May 2018, but due to limited spaces please submit your application ASAP to avoid disappointment.
Is there an application fee? – No we do not charge a fee for your application. Simply complete the online application form to submit your interest in attending.
When will I find out if I have been accepted? – We will endeavour to contact you by email within 10 working days to offer you a place and provide you with the link to pay your fees.
How old do you have to be to attend the programme? – There is no upper age limit but you must be a minimum of 18 years old, meet the English language requirements and have an interest in experiencing student life in the UK.
Do I need to complete any prerequisite course work prior to arriving? - There are no specific requirements but it is suggested that you have some knowledge of the subject area you are interested in.
Do I have to pay anything before arriving? – A £250 non-refundable deposit must be paid by 15 May 2018. Discounts are also on offer for applications and deposits received by 31 March 2018. Your final balance must be paid by 2 June 2018.
When will I receive my summer programme visa support letter? - Once you have paid your programme tuition fee in full, Teesside University will provide you with a summer programme visa support letter. This will be sent to you electronically and the original will be posted to you at the nominated home address as detailed in your original application.
Can I register to attend for either a one or three-week programme?– The programmes have been structured to meet specific outcomes and learning needs of visitors and therefore are set as advertised. You can register for one of the three options - English Programme (2weeks), Academic Programme (2 weeks) or Full Programme (4weeks).
Can I choose more than one academic subject area to study? – Due to the demands of the programme and the learning objectives and outcomes that have been set it is not possible to choose a mix of subject specific options.
Can I change my choice of academic programme once I have started? – We will do everything we can to ensure you have a great experience here and this includes making sure you are on the programme best suited for you.
How do I get to the University campus when I arrive in the UK?–The best option would be to arrive at either Durham Tees Valley Airport or Newcastle International Airport. From either of these locations we will organise a transfer to the campus. If arriving into another UK airport you will need to arrange train travel to Middlesbrough where we can meet you. We will send you full travel information once you have registered.
How do I arrange my accommodation?– Your accommodation is included in the cost of the programme and is allocated in our Central Halls accommodation here on campus.
Will I have access to computers and library facilities? -You will be given an IT account and student access card for the full range of facilities and resources you need during your programme.
Can I use the sports facilities during my visit? – You will have full access to the gym and sports facilities in your free time.
What is there to do in my leisure time? – There is an array of leisure activity available in Teesside and the surrounding region which provides you with the opportunity to explore historical locations and immerse yourself in popular culture.
