These posts will be positioned within Tees Valley Sport, the local County Sports Partnership hosted by Teesside University.
The Tees Valley School Games will take place in 2012 as part of the national legacy plan for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
We are seeking to appoint 2 people to assist the Local Organising Committee to deliver the Games.
The School Games Project Officer will organise and manage the delivery of the Tees Valley School Games. Key requirements for the post include experience of organising and delivering high profile events, recruitment and management of paid staff and volunteers and working with organising groups, for example, event committees.
The Sports Development and Events Intern is a full time position assisting the School Games Project Officer and working with other officers to deliver projects supporting volunteers, coaches and leaders working in school and community sport.
The Intern position will be of particular interest to a recent graduate or person with comparable learning. Key requirements include a knowledge of education, community and sport structures, experience of working as a volunteer and of organising or delivering events in either a paid or voluntary capacity.
The positions we are filling is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and a satisfactory CRB disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau is required as part of our clearance procedures.
