Cummins Ltd manufactures and markets a complete line of diesel and natural gas-powered engines. Its markets include heavy-and medium-duty truck, bus, recreational vehicle (RV), light-duty automotive and military equipment. The Darlington plant employs approximately 700 staff.
This Short Knowledge Transfer Partnership is looking to identify the impact of key process parameters upon coating quality through Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling, implement an improved paint system and embed a robust quality process.
The ideal candidate will have a
• BSc or MSc in related Engineering/Physics discipline
• Experience of working with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software e.g. Fluent, COMSOL
• Excellent communication skills and be able to work in conjunction with both industrial and university partners.
You will be fully supported by both academic and company supervisors for the duration of this role.
Role is a 48 week temporary contract. You will be employed by the University of Teesside but will be based at Cummins Ltd, Darlington.
