‘CELEBRATING DIVERSITY’ at The Opportunity University

22 November 2002

The University of Teesside is launching its new Equal Opportunities Policy (incorporating Racial Equality) during an Awareness Week in support of the policy, from Monday 25 November.

Information stands, workshops and events will be available throughout the week, providing a range of information on Equality & Diversity issues and offering an opportunity for the local community to find out more about our widening participation and accessibility activities. Lee Graham, Equality & Diversity Officer at the University said: “If you have thought about studying or working at the University, or just want to know more about our values and ideals, now is you chance to find out more about us and how we can help you achieve your goals.

“Our work in widening participation to higher education study is well recognised and these events support an ongoing campaign. The Tees Valley includes a wonderfully diverse mix of people and we want the University of Teesside to fully reflect, and benefit from, this great cultural asset.”

The University of Teesside’s ‘Celebrating Diversity’ initiative will be formally launched on Tuesday 26 November to an audience of invited guests at a reception attended by University of Teesside Chairman of Board of Governors, John Hackney. For further information about the events, call Lee Graham on 01642 342208.
