Exploring the challenge of climate change

Sir David King, the Government’s Chief Scientific Adviser and Head of the UK Office of Science & Technology, is to visit the University of Teesside on Tuesday 19 October. He will deliver the University’s Annual Science & Technology lecture, which will explore the role of science in government and the challenge of climate change.

The lecture will begin at 6.30pm in the Innovation Centre lecture theatre, off Stephenson Street, Middlesbrough. There will be an opportunity to photograph Sir David King at 6.20pm, with the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Graham Henderson and the Dean of the School of Science & Technology, Professor Brian Hobbs. Following the lecture, Sir David will meet staff and students from the School of Science & Technology.

Professor Brian Hobbs, Dean of the School of Science & Technology said: “Science and Technology feature highly on our Government's agenda and the issue of climate change is of global significance. We are therefore extremely pleased that Sir David has agreed to be our lecturer this year and we look forward to a stimulating and thought provoking event”.
