Celebrating 75 years at Teesside

01 July 2005

On 2 July the University of Teesside will mark the 75th anniversary of the official opening of Constantine College, the original educational predecessor of the University. To celebrate this landmark, the University is launching Anniversary Scholarships worth a total of £3,000 per student.

The scholarships will be offered to those who do well in their A levels and choose one of 13 full-time degree courses starting in October 2005. The University is making its Anniversary Scholarships available to students who achieve 300 UCAS tariff points. Applicants with non-standard entry qualifications will be considered on an individual basis. Successful students will receive £1,000 per year for each of the three years of their course.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Graham Henderson said: “Demonstrating our commitment to achievement and to student support in this form is a very appropriate way to celebrate our 75th anniversary. We’re delighted to be offering these scholarships.”

Beth Beck, President of the University’s Students’ Union, added: “These scholarships are great; they will give some much needed extra money to a number of individuals. A somewhat unexpected bonus for the students involved.”

Scholarships are available for the following Honours degree courses: BA Creative Advertising and Promotion, BA Design Marketing (Packaging and Point of Purchase), BA Product Design (Contemporary Lifestyle and Furniture), BA Digital Music Creation, BSc Digital Music, BA Post-Production and Visual Effects, BSc Technical Direction in Computer Animation, BSc Health Psychology, BSc Sport and Exercise Psychology, BSc Digital Forensics, BSc Forensic Investigation and Consumer Law, BA Sport and Leisure Management and BA Sport Management.
