On the road to success for computer driving licence

17 August 2007

Following a recent external audit by the British Computer Society (BCS), the School’s European Computer Driving Licence® Test Centre has been awarded an A rating for the third year running, for meeting the requirements of the ECDL Quality Assurance system and for running an exemplary centre.

The ECDL Centuria Test Centre, based in the School, has been in operation since 2003. As a grade A test centre, Centuria has fully satisfied the BCS's stringent assessment criteria yet again and was commended for the quality of its preparation, documentation and delivery of the programme.

Nicola Bowman, BCS Auditor, said, ‘The centre continues to deliver a quality product and achieve a high pass rate in its core ECDL delivery.’

The ECDL has become the global standard in end-user computer skills, offering candidates an internationally recognised certification that is supported by governments, computer societies, international health organisations and commercial corporations globally.

The ECDL is the world’s largest end-user computer skills certification programme, with more than six million candidates in 146 countries.
