A first class relocation for Trevor

20 November 2007

Trevor Langford relocated from Sussex to the University of Teesside to study for an Higher National Diploma (HND) in Sport and Exercise. He progressed from the HND to the second year of a degree in Sports Therapy and graduates today, Tuesday 20 November, with first class honours. Trevor has enrolled again at the University for a master’s degree in Sport and Exercise.

Trevor, 26, from Horsham in West Sussex, said: ‘Teesside caught my eye straight away when I was looking around at Universities. It was more impressive than other colleges. When I visited the lecturers spoke to me as a student rather than a statistic, they wanted to know about me. ‘The University has first class facilities in sport and exercise, they’re second to none. And the lecturers are superb. I absolutely love living and studying in the North East - it’s a growing part of the country. ‘I was delighted to have achieved a first class honours degree in Sports Therapy. The past four years of hard work have paid off and have given me the incentive to achieve further academic and professional qualifications. I’m also working for Middlesbrough FC as a Sports Therapist and I am keen to develop my knowledge and expertise in the specialist field of Sports Therapy.’ Before moving to the North East, Trevor was a self-employed personal trainer in Horsham, a business he started at the age of 17. Trevor’s sporting achievements were officially recognised in 2006, when he won the sport and recreation category of the Learning and Skill’s Council’s Celebration of Learning and Skills Awards. The awards were sponsored by FE+, a coalition of further education colleges throughout the North East.
