Placemaking and Cohesion in Diverse Communities

Thursday 12 June 2007, Harmony House, Middlesbrough. Achieving community cohesion is a core objective in much government policy on building sustainable communities.

In this half day conference we will explore, through workshops and panel discussions, the challenges faced in housing design and neighbourhood planning in successful placemaking in diverse communities. Barbara Roche, Visiting Fellow, Social Futures Institute, University of Teesside and former Government Minister with responsibility for social exclusion and neighbourhood renewal, will be chairing the event.
