Entrepreneurs to drive forward digital innovation

10 July 2008

Forward thinkers are being urged to put themselves in the running for a prestigious Fellowship scheme.

The Institute of Digital Innovation (IDI) is now seeking applicants for its DigitalCity Fellowships scheme.

Those selected will be given financial support and help from industry professionals, which will allow them to develop innovative projects.

It is an ideal opportunity for entrepreneurs and innovators in the digital media and technology sectors to explore ideas in a supportive environment with world class facilities.

Successful Fellows will carry out research, product or commercial development to a stage where it is to industry standard, commercially viable or able to attract further funding.

The IDI offers three types of Fellowships which are aimed at graduates:

  • Junior Fellowship - a one month Fellowship with a typical award of £500. This requires a basic idea and skill development which may be linked to a larger project
  • Innovation Fellowship – a three to six month Fellowship with a typical award of £4,000. Individual or team based projects that develop or exploit new technologies. All projects funded in this category are expected to lead to the creation of a business
  • Creative Fellowship - a three to six month Fellowship with a typical award of £4,000. Teams will work on pre-proof of concept to develop new creative products. All teams are expected to form a business.

If you are interested in applying for a DigitalCity Fellowship complete the Enquiry Form which will be used to assess your eligibility and suitability.

Enquiry forms should be emailed to Cheryl@thedigitalcity.org by Friday 29 August.

Once your eligibility has been established you will be invited to attend a half-day pre-application seminar and make a formal application.

For further information about any aspect of the DigitalCity Fellowships call Scott Watson or Cheryl Evans, at the IDI office, on 01642 384330.
