Tees Valley Communities goes live

Tees Valley Communities Online (TVCO) has its official launch on Friday 20 October at the University of Teesside.

The programme includes an official launch at 1.30pm in the University Innovation and Virtual Reality Centre's main lecture theatre (building next to the Evening Gazette offices)

The event begins with the Town Crier calling everyone to order. Helen Pickering, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, will introduce speakers at 1.35pm. Then Steve Thompson, TVCO Project Manager, will explain what Tees Valley Communities Online is about, followed by Brian Bibby from South Bank Community Forum, talking about his community's involvement. Dr Ashok Kumar, MP, will give the key-note speech. The Town Crier will then invite speakers to the exhibition area and enjoy the entertainment.

From 2.30pm until 6pm, the Innovation and Virtual Reality Centre will be thrown open to the public and its hoped that visitors from Teesside's present and former steel communities will attend.

3.10-3.30 Tees Valley Youth Brass Band

3.40-3.50 South Tyneside College - Steel Town

4.00-4.15 Tees Valley Youth Brass Band

5.00-5.15 Netherfield Belles
