The Vis Awards have been designed to recognise and reward animation, games, digital music and software development techniques developed by Teesside students.
And this year the Vis Awards are being sponsored by Ubisoft Entertainment - a leading French computer games publisher with facilities in over 20 countries.
Ubisoft is offering a trio of six month internships to students taking part in the competition.
A spokesman for Ubisoft said: ‘We are delighted to be involved in this year’s Vis Awards. We recognise the importance of the University of Teesside’s games development courses, for the students who learn essential industry skills and for the growth of the UK’s world class development community.’
