The camera never lies

06 March 2009

Young people with a talent behind the camera found themselves in the spotlight at our Royal Television Society showcase.

They gathered at the University for a sparkling ceremony in which their creativity and hard work was recognised and they were presented with certificates.

This was the 21st Royal Television Society Young People's Digital Video Showcase which gives young people the opportunity to show their films and videos to peers and media professionals.

Advice and support Entrants also get advice, support and encouragement from a panel of professionals in the media industry. Plus they meet other young people making films and see clips of their work.

Tony Edwards, from the RTS, said: 'The RTS is pleased to be co-sponsor of the event. The quality of entries clearly show the level of creativity amongst young persons in our region. This talent needs to be nurtured and developed and the RTS is delighted to be associated with the opportunity for this to happen.’

There were two events - a junior event for age 13 and under and a senior event for those aged 14 – 19.

The Royal Television Society is an educational charity with a long history of helping people interested in the craft of producing television.
