A global gathering at Teesside

Over 500 international students are expected to converge on our Students’ Union next week.

They will be gathering from 5.00pm to 7.15pm on Monday 19 October to attend a University reception for international students, including those from the European Union.

The reception will take place in The Hub (on the top floor of the Students’ Union on Southfield Road). It will start with welcomes from the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Graham Henderson and the Deputy Mayor of Middlesbrough, David Budd. The evening will also include:

>local live band KJB >an international quiz >a free raffle where students can win tickets to the Middlesbrough FC match taking place at the Riverside the following evening >a buffet with soft drinks.

Dr Keith Brown, Director of the University’s Centre for International Development, said: 'Teesside University has had a record intake of over 500 new international students this October. The evening will be our welcome to them, of all nationalities and faiths. We’re also inviting all staff who have an interest in working with international students to come along, to meet the new and returning students and be part of the evening.'
