Two new categories announced for Vis awards

Two more sponsors have come forward to offer support and prizes for the Vis awards.

Escape Studios are sponsoring a visual effects award for the best and most innovative use of 2D or 3D media combined with live action for the creation of a pre-rendered sequence.

And Loft Music are sponsoring a digital music award for the best and most innovative use of technology and techniques for the creation and digital production of a music composition'.

Entrants to the visual effects award can win access to specialist software for a year and Loft Music are offering a two-week internship in their Newcastle offices.

Mark Cass, Escape Studios commercial director, says: 'Escape Studios is extremely pleased to be involved in the 2010 Vis Awards. After attending last year's show we are excited by the new talent coming through Teesside and look forward to another great year.
