14 May 2010

Teesside University’s sport and exercise team is delighted to announce that plans are on track for the opening of the new state-of-the-art sports, teaching and research complex in June.

Building work on the Centuria South development is complete, principal lecturer for sport and exercise, Jocelyn Tantawy, is looking forward to getting her hands on the keys when the building is officially opened.

'This superb sports science facility will really make a positive difference to our students. It is equipped with hydrotherapy pool, anatomy laboratories, dedicated strength and conditioning and physical activity space, and a specialist clinical sports therapy area, all to an extremely high specification. Using equipment like this while studying is fantastic preparation for a career in sport.'

Join Teesside’s success as University of the Year (Times Higher Education awards) and be inspired in the field of sport and exercise, where elite athletes can receive a bursary worth up to £2,000.
