The department is up for Outstanding Student Services Team at the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards.
The winner will be announced during a lavish ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on Thursday 17 June.
Garry Toulouse, Director of Student Services, said he was extremely proud of his team.
He added: ‘I think it validates what the staff have been doing – it is saying to them that what they believe in and what they have been engaged in really has value.’
Mark Hawkings, Head of Sport and Well-being, said: ‘I think it is absolutely fantastic that we have been nominated in the first instance and I’m really pleased we will be there at the ceremony and in with a shout – we will have to wait and see what happens on the night.’
The success of Student Services in the Times Higher Education Leadership and Management Awards follows on from Teesside winning University of the Year and Outstanding Employer Engagement Initiative of the Year at last year’s Time Higher Awards.
