Sky’s the limit for fundraising graduate

13 August 2010

A kind-hearted Teesside graduate is aiming high and is in training to climb Mount Kilimanjaro to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Trust.

Jane Smith, who graduated with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy in 2001, has raised almost £3,000 so far and hopes scaling Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest free-standing mountain in the world, will boost her fundraising efforts.

For the past year she has been busy organising events with friends, family, colleagues and neighbours donating along the way.

She said: ‘I'm not getting too nervous yet but my main worries are mainly around how I'm going to cope with the cold once we're at altitude as I struggle even in the mildest winters, but I'm planning to pack many extra layers for the night time.

‘Mostly I'm just very excited about the challenge and am looking forward to meeting my fellow trekkers.'
