Bids still welcome for charity auction

10 June 2013

There is still time to submit a bid for the Teesside University charity auction where an original Antony Gormley drawing is the top prize.

The auction takes place at the Constantine Gala Dinner on the University’s campus on Saturday 15 June and will raise money for Teesside University’s Development Fund.

Members of the public can place bids for prizes in the lead up to the event and on the night itself at a dedicated website .

Antony Gormley OBE is a world-renowned British artist best known for creating the Angel of the North, and was awarded an honorary degree from Teesside University in 2004. He has donated an original striking drawing titled ‘Bounding Condition’ from his personal collection to the auction.

Other prizes include a European holiday, a VIP spa break and a hot air balloon ride.

As a charity, Teesside University is required to raise additional funds to enhance the experience it offers its students and to maximise the positive impact the University can make within the wider community.

The University’s Development Fund raises money to support scholarships and student prizes, boost student and graduate employability, enrich campus facilities, enhance research and raise aspirations within the community.
