Editor to headline the Business Exchange

16 July 2013

Northern Echo editor Peter Barron is set to share business insights at the highest level. He is taking part in The Business Exchange, a network of senior leaders from businesses and organisations in the North East and North Yorkshire, meeting every month at Teesside University Darlington.

The Business Exchange was launched to enable industry leaders to share knowledge and experience, boosting economic regeneration and enabling business to grow and prosper.

The free events provide an opportunity for business networking at the highest level, as well as hearing from inspirational business leaders and being able to exchange valuable business knowledge.

Each event features a high-profile national or regional business speaker sharing their business knowledge, followed by a question and answer session, and networking time.

Peter, who has been editor at the Northern Echo for 14 years, will share his thoughts on the rising use of social media and its relationship with the press at the Business Exchange on August 21.

The dad-of-four joined the Northern Echo as a reporter in 1984. He rose from reporter to deputy editor before joining the Hartlepool Mail as editor in 1997. He returned to the Northern Echo a year later as editor.

The former UK Columnist of the Year runs training courses around the country for news editors and serves on the board of Darlington Partnership, is trustee of the Tony Blair Sports Foundation and a governor of Future Sport.

The Business Exchange with Peter Barron, Editor of the Northern Echo, takes place on August 21 from 5pm to 6.30pm

The Business Exchange meets at Teesside University Darlington, Vicarage Road, Darlington, DL1 1JW.
