University hosts free e-commerce seminars for small businesses

05 April 2000

The University of Teesside is hosting free e-commerce seminars for small/medium sized businesses on Thursday 13 April at 7.45am and 12.15pm at the David Lloyd Leisure Centre, Tees Barrage, Thornaby.

The seminars, organised by the University of Teesside's IT Response Unit, Stockton-based companies CPA Systems Ltd and Walker Hall Associates, are an opportunity for small/medium sized businesses to see how e-commerce can improve their business.

In addition to the expert advice and guidance on how to enter the hi-tech 21 century business playground, the 90 minute sessions will also give details about new initiatives to develop free web sites for businesses.

Joanne Marwood, Project Manager at the University's IT Response Unit said: "The free seminars are an ideal opportunity for small/medium businesses to see for themselves just how easy it is to take that first step on the information highway and, more importantly, put together a business vision plan including acquiring and updating IT skills for staff.

"Also, by registering as members for the BeN Club (Business Improvement Network), businesses will be eligible for free IT healthchecks and help with planning and costing new IT systems."

Anyone wanting to attend the seminars should contact Joanne on tel 01642 342608/342633.
