Discover part-time and postgraduate routes to higher education

03 March 2014

Chris Moat was working as a community paramedic when he decided to return to education through part-time study.

Working in a rural community, he wanted to develop both professionally and personally, but sought a route which would enable him to continue work while studying.

Chris completed the BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science at Teesside University part-time over two years.

He said: 'It was important for me to study a degree designed by paramedics for paramedics, to provide the best opportunity to develop practice and advance my deeper understanding of the paramedic role.'

Currently on secondment from the North East Ambulance Service as a senior lecturer at Teesside University, Christopher is now also using his knowledge and experience to support students.

He added: 'The student learning experience is important at the University and I enjoyed a very positive experience as a student.

'My time studying at Teesside University prepared me for the next stage in my career and personal development and I'm considering continuing my education to master’s level.'

Find out how study can work for you at an open day at Teesside University Middlesbrough campus from 2.00pm to 7.00pm on Wednesday 12 March, when advice and information will be offered on both part-time and postgraduate study.
