23 April 2014

Two leading sports medicine physicians who have worked with the Australian cricket team and Liverpool FC during their illustrious careers will be talking at Teesside University as part of their tour of the UK.

Peter Brukner and Karim Khan will give an insight into working with sports teams, how to get into the industry and whether it is all fame and glamour.

An Audience with Peter Brukner and Karim Khan takes place at Teesside University on Wednesday 30 April from 5.30pm.

Peter is a specialist sports and exercise physician currently working with the Australian cricket team. He has been team physician for professional football clubs, as well as national athletics, swimming and men’s hockey teams at both the Olympic and Commonwealth Games. Peter was the Australia Team Doctor at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and more recently Head of Sports Medicine and Sports Science at Liverpool Football Club. He is Associate Professor in Sports Medicine at the University of Melbourne.

As well as reminiscing about their careers, the pair will also address topics such as nutrition, hip and groin injuries and managing tendinopathies.
