Law fair hailed a success

18 March 2016

Teesside University’s annual law fair gave students fresh insight into the profession and offered the chance to network with a number of law firms.

The law fair was held in the School of Social Sciences, Business & Law. As well as offering students the chance to meet people in the industry, it also allowed legal professionals to find out more about the work being carried out by the students.

The event was organised by the Teesside Law Clinic, which offers free legal advice, guidance and representation to the public. Law students in the final year of their degree are able to work on real life cases under the supervision of lecturers and legal professionals.

The law fair provided students with the perfect opportunity to network and find out about potential opportunities for work experience and training contracts.

fourteen exhibitors attended the event, made up of local Law firms and Barristers Chambers, all with a keen interest in developing stronger links with Teesside University and its students.

Event organiser Andrew Perriman, Senior Lecturer in Law and Director of Teesside Law Clinic, praised everybody involved for making the event such a success. He said: 'There was a very positive atmosphere at the law fair and it was a really successful event.

'All the exhibitors were impressed with the quality of the students and some of the firms even identified individuals who they were particularly interested in for future opportunities.'
