The 23-year-old graduates today with a First Class BSc (Hons) Computer Science and he is set to start his new career on the Graduate Programme for software consultancy firm Accenture.

'Right from the beginning, I felt that Teesside put greater emphasis on developing skills needed for employment, rather than just the skills needed to complete the degree,” explained Jordan, from Roseworth.

'Throughout the degree, you are encouraged to push yourself and you are constantly learning.

'I've learned not only how to code and create computer systems, but also a lot of computing principles and best practices when it comes to developing a solution, which is extremely important in the current IT world of work.'

Jordan says he developed both academically and as a person through his experiences at Teesside University.

He added: 'There are a whole host of different skills to be gained outside of your degree course through the range of clubs and societies. I was involved with Teesside Entrepreneurs and Teesside Barbarians Powerlifting Club which helped me to develop as a person and meet new people.'

Jordan would definitely recommend studying at Teesside University. 'The whole experience has been brilliant. The University campus is in the heart of the town and you have everything you need right at your fingertips.

'My advice to anybody coming here would be to hit the ground running and make the most of everything on offer.'
