Fun filled freshers’ events for new and returning students

New and returning Teesside University students can expect more than just a fun filled freshers’ this year with headline acts DJ Fresh and Basshunter.

Internationally renowned DJ Fresh, euro-pop maestro Basshunter and radio presenter Chris Stark join a packed line-up, which also includes live comedy, Lo Reid’s hypnotist show and a range of club and theme nights.

Freshers’ 2016 events can be enjoyed in the Students’ Union from Saturday 24 September to Saturday 8 October.

DJ Fresh has clocked up a string of hits and headlined some of the world’s biggest dance festivals, while Basshunter has enjoyed international success and Chris Stark shot to fame working alongside Radio 1 presenter Scott Mills.

Alongside the evening events will be special offers and the opportunity to join a wide range of sports clubs and societies, with information on settling in to student life available at daytime events from September 26 to 28 in the SU Building.

Bruna Silva, President of Teesside University Students’ Union (TUSU), said: 'We have another fantastic freshers’ line-up and we know students are already hugely excited by the entertainment awaiting them throughout the fortnight. It’s testament to our excellent national reputation that we continue to attract some of the biggest names around.

‘As well as all the opportunities to socialise, it is important to stress that there will be lots of help and support available to students from both the University and SU with any aspects of settling in to student life or getting more from your time in higher education through sport, hobbies and volunteering.'

Non-students are also welcome to attend SU events but must be signed in by a current student. Full details about freshers’ events and admission can be found on the Students' Union website.
