Teesside University has been recognised for the quality of its student and learning experience and the reach of its research with a major international accolade.
The University has been listed for the first time in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings released today (22 September 2016). The rankings recognise the University as being among the world’s top 10% of higher education institutions.
Professor Paul Croney, Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive of Teesside University, said: 'A key part of our mission for Teesside University is to be an international university with a reputation for academic excellence.
'We are constantly working to provide an outstanding student and learning experience underpinned by research, enterprise and the professions.
'We are delighted that our work in this regard has been rewarded and we have been recognised as one of the top 800 universities in the world.'
This latest accolade comes after the most recent International Student Barometer (ISB) found that Teesside University was ranked first in the world for personal tutors and third globally for overall satisfaction by its international students. The majority of Teesside’s research is also recognised as being ‘world-leading’ or ‘internationally-excellent’ in the UK’s Research Evaluation Framework (REF).
