When Fusion Hive on Stockton’s Northshore was opened by local MP James Wharton last October, he described it as a ‘driver for growth’.

The state-of-the-art workspace, which is managed by Teesside University, has quickly established itself as a hub for ambitious SMEs looking to grow their business.

Already, more than 20 companies have moved into Fusion Hive to take advantage of its modern offices and meeting spaces, superfast broadband, and high-tech facilities.

Integrity Search, a digital marketing agency, moved into Fusion Hive shortly after it opened.

Managing Director Kristin Atkinson said: 'The company was looking to expand and we needed more space and more prestigious premises to help us attract clients.

'Fusion Hive has certainly helped us in that regard. Since moving in, we’ve taken on two new members of staff and attracted significant number of high calibre clients.

'In the last two quarters, we’ve had just under 60% year-on-year growth and if that trend continues we will probably be recruiting again very soon.

'Since moving in, we’ve also been shortlisted for several industry awards and we were also handpicked by Google, as one of only 15 independent elite performing agencies out of the 20,000-plus Google Partners, to attend an expert business coaching and growth programme.' Fusion Hive is designed to offer the ideal environment for business collaboration by bringing together like-minded tenants and giving them the opportunity to network, collaborate and capitalise on opportunities for growth.

Companies get access to Teesside University’s significant business networks, expertise and training provision and the help it provides in sourcing potential funding.

Laura Woods, Director of The Forge, Teesside University’s business hub, said: 'This has been a fantastic 12 months and we are delighted that so many businesses have chosen to make Fusion Hive their home.

'At Teesside University, we want to work with companies to help them grow and fulfil their potential and Fusion Hive is the perfect place to do this.'
