Double medal win for cyclist Charlie

Teesside University student Charlie Tanfield won a place on the podium to collect gold and silver medals in the British Track Championships held in Manchester.

Charlie, 20, of Great Ayton, a first year BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering student, was part of the four-strong pursuit team which took gold at the HSBC UK National Cycling Centre.

He also finished second in the Men’s individual pursuit at the same event.

Charlie is a member of Teesside University’s Elite Athlete scheme. His brother is professional cyclist Harry Tanfield, a BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering student and fellow Teesside University Elite Athlete, who has competed on the international stage.
