A summer of opportunity for international students

05 February 2018

Later this year, Teesside University is opening its doors to the world for an International Summer Programme based at its Middlesbrough Campus, UK

Offering the option of a two or four week residential programme in July, students from around the globe will take part in academic and English language sessions in addition to an exciting and varied social programme.

The annual event offers students the chance to get a taste of study in the UK by opting into hands-on interactive academic modules covering Digital Marketing, Games Art, Animation and Visual Effects, International Law, Mechanical Engineering and Public Health. The academic programmes have been designed specifically for the event and will showcase the world-class facilities and industry-relevant content on offer at Teesside.

The second half of the Summer Programme offers students the opportunity to engage in an English language course covering academic and social English. Through group and paired exercises, participants will develop the skills necessary to function effectively in both academic and non-academic contexts.

Personal and professional development workshops are also a core thread, differentiating the Teesside Summer Programme from more traditional alternatives in the sector. The varied nature of the programme design will ensure participants return home with greater understanding of an academic area, enhanced English language skills, increased confidence and heightened awareness of what the UK has to offer culturally and educationally.

This promises to be an exciting summer and we look forward to creating lasting memories and life-changing experiences for those involved.

Adam Rennison, Head of International Recruitment at Teesside University said: 'We are delighted to be offering this summer programme to international students from around the world – it is another example of how Teesside creates opportunity for international experience and student mobility.

'This promises to be an exciting summer and we look forward to creating lasting memories and life-changing experiences for those involved.'
