Professor Jane Turner OBE DL, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Enterprise and Business Engagement), received the official honour at an investiture held at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh.

She was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List last year for her outstanding services to business engagement.

Professor Turner OBE DL joined Teesside University in November 2015 and is responsible for enterprise, knowledge transfer and business engagement. She leads on student and graduate start-ups, strategic partnerships and the employability agenda.

Commenting on her OBE, she said: 'It was a huge honour to be officially presented with my OBE and it ranks as one of the proudest achievements of my career.

'Colleagues at Teesside University show a tremendous amount of commitment and dedication to embed our business engagement agenda and this recognition is a testament to all of their hard work.

The University is on a very exciting trajectory and I am extremely proud to play a part in that.
