An additional Civil Engineering Degree Apprenticeship is also available with Stockton Borough Council.

All apprenticeships start in September and those interested can apply now. Designed in partnership with employers and professional bodies, Teesside University’s Civil Engineering Degree Apprenticeship programmes offer aspiring civil engineers the opportunity to earn while they learn, combining a higher education qualification with practical experience and employment skills.

One day a week is spent on study time, with four days dedicated to the workplace, enabling students to develop towards Incorporated Engineer (IEng) professional registration.

As an apprentice, you are provided with the opportunity to fast track your career while receiving support and investment from your employer. And for employers, Degree Apprenticeships help to attract and retain top talent, grow their business and enhance and develop the workforce.

The new Degree Apprenticeships with Durham County Council build on an already successful partnership and there are already 18 students currently employed and studying towards a Teesside University Degree Apprenticeship at the local authority. The University’s Degree Apprenticeship with Stockton Borough Council is a new offer and will provide a springboard for further opportunities.

Dr Dimitri Nicolaou, Associate Dean in Teesside University’s School of Science, Engineering & Design, said: 'The University prides itself on offering a wide range of study options. These new Civil Engineering Degree Apprenticeships are a fantastic learning opportunity and are a result of our committed and successful partnership work with employers.'

Working in partnership with Teesside University, the programme has been a huge success with high quality academic learning, delivered by the University, complemented by real life situations within the workplace to embed the new skills acquired.
