Learn all about Law at Teesside

28 August 2001

Aspiring legal eagles should fly to the University of Teesside on Thursday 6 September 2001 for an Open Evening, which will provide information about full-time and part-time Law (LLB Hons) degrees at the University. The event is free and will be held from 6pm-7.30pm in the Law Foyer, Seventh Floor, Middlesbrough Tower (entrance off the King Edward's Square, near the junction with Borough Road, Middlesbrough, which is the University's main entrance).

Helen Howard, Admissions Tutor for Law at the University, said: "The evening will be very informal and open to anyone of any age with an interest in studying Law. Formal qualifications are not always necessary to study Law, if potential students have relevant experience. Members of the Law section will be available to talk about the degree and deal with individual enquiries. This year, for the first time, students can choose the LLB (Hons) degree, or specialist routes, Business Law, International Law and Welfare Law.

"From this autumn, the University is also offering a Senior Status LLB. This enables graduates to convert their existing degree into a Law degree after only two years of study. The Senior Status LLB is open to graduates of any University over the last five years and from any subject, or those who have kept their study skills up to date since graduating. Law is a dynamic, fast-moving subject which gives access to a range of careers, not only in the legal profession itself but also in industry, the civil service, politics, local government or education, to name but a few."
