Learn a Language at the University of Teesside

2001 has been designated by the European Union as the European Year of Languages, and the University of Teesside is offering a range of modules which will enable people to expand their language skills. Among the language courses are two evening classes: French for Work/German for Work and Foundation French/ Foundation German.

Teesside International Airport is Patron of the Languages for Work initiative, which will cover a range of work-based situations in both French and German. In support of the European Year of Languages, Teesside International Airport is offering a trip to France and a trip to Germany, to the business person who has made most progress on their French or German for Work courses.

The courses last for a year. Successful students will receive a University Certificate in Professional Development (UCPD). If students have not previously taken any modules at the University fees are £ 90 per course.

Director of Teesside Business School Dr. John Wilson said: “Teesside Business School is committed to assisting businesses grow, in regional, domestic and international markets. For many businesses, language proficiency is a critical success factor and this is why we are providing the Languages for Work courses. In doing so, we are delighted, and very grateful, to receive the support of Teesside International Airport.”

Enrolment takes place on 4 and 6 September 2001 from 10am-7pm at Teesside Business School (second floor of the Clarendon Building), although students can enrol until the first classes start from 24-26 September.
