We're proud of you

The Passport Pride awards recognise and celebrate the achievements of our Passport students and institutions. The awards acknowledge the winners' achievements and encourage continued success in their final year in further education. They also celebrate the partnership we enjoy with institutions in the region in supporting students progressing to higher education. About the awards

The Passport Pride awards 2011 presented 15 awards.
More about the 2011 awards ceremony

The Pride awards take place in September and is a prestigious formal dinner by invitation only. It gives outstanding students and institutions a formal recognition for their hard work and success.

The Passport Institution awards

Three institution awards are presented:

Outstanding Passport Institution of the Year

  • 2011 winner - Prior Pursglove College

Passport Newcomer of the Year

  • 2011 winner - Ashington High School and Sports College

 

The Student Awards

The winners are all Year 12 students, Access or pre-Access students at Passport institutions. Students are nominated by institution staff having demonstrated the following in their subject area:

  • participation in enrichment and extra curricular activities that support learning or progression opportunities
  • demonstration of progression through further education levels
  • an excellent track record of improving your own skills over the duration of the course
  • excellent examination and coursework results or an outstanding piece of work
  • evidence of working with others to support their achievement
  • contribution to the school or college and peers
  • commitment to your chosen career path
  • achievement by overcoming or dealing with learning difficulties
  • achievement by overcoming language challenges
  • excellent attendance and punctuality record.
