What made you decide to study on a higher education course?

University has given me the opportunity to broaden my horizons – I’ve met new people from all over the world, faced new challenges and enjoyed the range of activities, clubs and societies on offer.

It has also allowed me to learn about and experience a new culture, along with learning a new language.

Tell us about your course

The course links in with my undergraduate degree in agricultural engineering. I like all the modules because they relate to the field I am interested in. My course leader is very helpful and gives thorough explanations of the lab equipment which really helps my overall knowledge.

Have you done a work placement or placement year?

I have recently started my Advanced Practice Placement at R&R Ice Cream. I have been training in the mixed plant process, testing the quality of samples and am about to learn how to carry out leading quality assurance. I’m learning new specialist skills everyday along with communication and leadership training.

What do you like about the campus?

Everyone is friendly and welcoming, you’re made to feel at home. The staff are helpful and always on hand for support and advice. Overall there is a nice environment here.

Would you recommend Teesside University and your course?

Yes, in fact I already have. This course is so rare and unique there aren’t many universities that offer it so I have already recommended it to many of my friends and family – some have already applied for this year’s intake.
