Herb Wiersma Herb studied fine art at Camberwell and Corsham, and design at Teesside. He has worked as a display designer, public artist and multimedia designer. Currently he is teaching drawing to computer animation and games students.

He has investigated figurative mark-making in many media, including installation, public projections and 3D interactive environments, undertaking commissions and exhibitions internationally.

As human/computer interfaces improve along with printing technology Herb’s continuing research includes an investigation of large scale vector graphics. Technically this provides a means of combining traditional approaches to drawing, painting and printmaking into a new digital hybrid. At the same time this medium challenges us to develop new concepts of authenticity in an art world where original marks can be infinitely and immediately reproduced.
