About Peter Reid
Peter's background is in product design but he has a keen interest in business, marketing and enterprise. His practical experience is cross disciplinary in new product development and he has a BA (Hons) Industrial Design and MA Marketing. Design, to him, is an inseparable component of marketing and business success.
His research interests lie in the process of new product development and service design. This calls for an integrated approach to design and business solutions. He works to build ongoing relationships with business to bring live, industry-linked projects into the School. This gives students invaluable practical experiences that prepare them for the real world.
Peter's skills lie in developing the students’ ability to design commercially aware solutions against a framework of research. Subsequently students are able to fully justify the market potential for their work, appreciate the best possible way to get to the market and are more likely to see their designs succeed.’
