Dr Biju Issac has been in the field of higher education since 1995. In his first job, he worked as a project assistant in Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore, India working on a Tomography research project. After an initial university teaching experience with courses in Madras University and others in India for around five years, he relocated to Malaysia. There he worked with Australian universities (like Wollongong University and Swinburne University) for around 10 years.
He moved into Teesside University in 2012 and is currently the course leader of BSc (Hons) Computer Security and Networks. He is a member of the Digital Futures Institute and works with the "Machine Intelligence' research group.
He has done Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Electronics and Communication Engineering and Master of Computer Applications (MCA) with honours. He has also earned PhD in Networking and Mobile Communications.
Dr Issac is research active and has authored more than 80 refereed publications as conference papers, journal papers and book chapters. He is in the technical programme committee of many international IEEE conferences and on the editorial board of international journals. He has supervised Master (MSc) by research students to completion and is currently supervising PhD students. He has been an external examiner to PhD students as well.
His professional memberships are: Chartered Engineer (CEng), Senior IEEE member, Fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA), IET member, IAENG member and Senior IACSIT member.
His personal website: http://www.bijuissac.com
His broad research interests are in Wireless Networks, Computer or Network Security, Mobility Management in 802.11 Networks, Intelligent text or data mining, Intelligent Intrusion Detection Systems, Cloud Optimization algorithms, Spam detection, Secure Electronic Voting etc.
He is keen to get PhD queries from good potential students from the above or related areas.
He is interested in working with the industries in the areas of network security (like intelligent intrusion detection system or similar) and intelligent text mining of qualitative reports.
