Teesside University/Centre for Regional and Local Historical Research Postgraduate History Symposium

Keynote speaker Professor Paul Ward, University of Huddersfield

2012 was a memorable year for Great Britain, witnessing the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

These occasions resulted in an increased interest in the notions of national identity and patriotism.

Although the permanency of these sentiments is questionable, the debates that they have generated will perhaps endure much longer than the legacy of the events themselves.

This one day symposium seeks to bring together postgraduates and academics in order to continue these interesting and wide-ranging debates.
