The Health and Social Care Institute hosts a number of seminars and training events to which all are welcome. Please check with the HSCI administrator if you wish to attend in case of last minute venue or timetable changes and to allow us to ensure we have sufficient accommodation to cope with changing numbers.

Physical activity group
Fuse has created a physical activity group to increase research collaboration between its five participating Universities (Durham, Newcastle, Northumbria, Sunderland and Teesside) and those who have an involvement in public health in the region and an interest in physical activity research. The group has several objectives including:

  • helping individuals to identify the research expertise of Fuse members
  • advertising future physical activity research events
  • sharing resources (equipment, methodological expertise and existing datasets)
  • sharing research funding opportunities
  • disseminating new achievements from the group
  • organising Fuse physical activity events
  • improving collaboration with policy and practice partners
  • improving collaboration with the other UKCRC Public Health Research Centres of Excellence.
