Royal College of Nursing Research Society Conference
Sharon Hamilton and Sue Jones both recently presented at the RCN Research Society Conference held in London on 23-25 April.
They gave a presentation on their evaluation of the end of life discharge sister post pilot project introduced at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
They also both chaired other sessions at the conference.
Sue’s poster ‘what works in smoking cessation in secondary care? A pilot study’ was voted poster of the day by conference delegates, and has led to an invitation to submit a paper for publication in the European Journal of Oncology Nursing.
Sue Jones has recently also presented a poster entitled ‘Introducing an end of life discharge sister post into an acute hospital’ at the Ninth Palliative Care Conference at the Sage, Gateshead. This poster is also being displayed at the NHS North East’s ‘Striving for Excellence’ conference in May 2012 .
