Additional Information
I am the Principal Lecturer/Subject Lead for Service Improvement team in the School of Health and Social Care at Teesside University- and am responsible for the operational management of the Service Improvement Team and ensuring the quality of the design, delivery and evaluation of educational provision within the team. I have a professional background in community nursing and service development and has worked at the University 10 years.

My particular interest is leadership development and its application and impact within the workplace. I am an experienced Myers Briggs Type Inventory (Step 1) facilitator, NHS Health care Leadership Model 3600 facilitator and Emotions and Behaviour at Work (emotional intelligence) facilitator.

I have designed and delivered a number of leadership programmes within the university, current programmes include: MSc Transformational Leadership, BSc Integrated service improvement and short courses such as, Working Effectively, Advanced Personal Effectiveness in Leadership and Interdependent Working. I am experienced in delivering programmes at a number of academic levels and to a range of students including clinical, non-clinical and support staff.

Ruth has been heavily involved in the design and delivery of a range of leadership programmes for external partners. These partners have been from across a range of sectors within health and social care, including public and private sector organisations and the independent sector. Ruth has developed strong partnership working skills and very aware of the need to be flexible and adaptive to partners expectations and needs.
