Erica's career in health began while working in Dubai as a practice manager for a private dental clinic. After several years in Dubai shereturned to Edinburgh to train as a dental hygienist. She became involved with the training of the dental team at Newcastle dental hospital. During her time at Newcastle as a tutor, she successfully gained a BA (Hons) in Further Education and Post 16 Education.

She also helped develop one of the first 'access to health care' courses in the North East. This course is now available throughout the country and many students successfully gain entry to their chosen field within health care after completing it.

Erica is studying for an MSc in Health and Social Care Sciences and is excited about her new role as Principal Lecturer for the BSc (Hons) Dental Hygiene and Therapy and the higher education certificate in dental nurse practice.
