Research: Health & Social Care research

Naomi joined Teesside University in October 2016 as a PhD student within the Health and Social Care Institute. Previously she completed a Bachelor of Health Science at Flinders University in Australia, and a Master of Science (Physical Activity for Health) at The University of Edinburgh.

Her PhD project examines the feasibility and acceptability of high intensity interval training interventions in “real-world” settings. She is currently working to develop, implement and evaluate a workplace exercise intervention that incorporates low-volume high intensity interval training.

Research interests

Naomi’s research interests broadly include the physical and mental health impacts of physical activity, the acceptability and feasibility of novel physical activity interventions, and the development and evaluation of physical activity interventions in community settings.
