Conference showcases digital developments in construction

An annual conference which highlights the latest digital technology in the construction industry attracted hundreds of visitors.

The international Conference on Construction Applications of Virtual Reality (CONVR), now in its 17th year, is organised by Teesside University and the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology.

More than 200 academics and industrial professionals attended the conference which was held in Hong Kong in December.

CONVR is one of the world-leading conferences in the areas of virtual reality, augmented reality and building information modelling.

Attendees from around the world were given the opportunity to discuss projects related to building information modelling, visualisation, mixed reality and digitisation of the construction processes.

CONVR is initiated by Professor Nashwan Dawood and since the first event was held at Teesside University, it has travelled to Taiwan, Japan, Malaysia and the USA.
