About Kirath Ghundoo

Kirath teaches on the BA (Hons) Textiles Degree degree as a part time Lecturer. Specialist areas include surface pattern design for interiors utilising handprint and digital with a focus on enterprise.

Kirath Ghundoo has been running her own brand over last six years under the name of 'KG Wallpaper and Surface Design'. The studio specialises in luxury geometric and bespoke wallpaper and surface pattern design onto products.

Kirath launched her first wallpaper collection ‘Mix ‘n’ Match 11’ at 100% Design, London in September 2011 and since then has become a favourite of the design and interiors press both in the UK and internationally, with Living etc labelling her as "the queen of pretty geometrics."

She has worked on bespoke interior wallpaper and surface design projects worldwide from Mexico, Italy, Netherlands, USA, France to Brazil. Clients include, CPS Homes, ContraVision, BBC, Vivienne Westwood, Harvey Nichols, Novamobili, Pippa Jameson and Susie Bubble.

Her love for travel, different cultures, fashion and photography are reflected through her surface pattern designs for interior wallpaper and surface design projects. The Mix ’n’ Match wallpapers iconic to her brand, disregard the rule book and encourage clients to have fun creating super cool feature walls of mismatched pattern and colour. Pushing boundaries to create original work, her designs are a fusion of all things KG!

With only such a short time on the design scene, the inventive nature behind Kirath’s wallpapers led to a shortlisted nomination for the Homes and Garden Young Designer of the Year 2012 alongside a nomination for the ELLE Decoration British Design Awards 2012. Nominated by Lee Broom, London Magazine graced her 'Rising Star of 2013'. Her wallpapers have achieved international recognition within major design press including ELLE Decoration worldwide, Mix, The Independent, The Observer and The Sunday Times to name a few.
